Eng. Leonard Gastory holds Msc. in Integrated Environmental Management (MIEM) and Bsc. in Civil and Water Resources Engineering. He is an Environmental Expert registered by the National Environment Management Council – NEMC and a Professional Civil Engineer registered by the Engineers Registration Board of Tanzania - ERB.
He works as ENVICON Senior Research and Development Officer. He has about 10 years experience of working in Tanzania and East Africa in general in the areas of environmental management, water resource management, and engineering.
He has participated in provision of consultancy services in major projects related to:
Planning, design and construction supervision of integrated wastewater management facilities including, constructed wetlands, biogas plants and sewerage systems;
- Planning, design and construction supervision of water supply and storage facilities;
- Facilitation in water and sanitation projects;
- Environmental impact assessment and audit for various infrastructural development;
- Environmental conservation projects;
- Feasibility and baseline studies; and Research works and surveys.
Eng. Leonard has practical experience in initiating, managing and coordinating various community based actions and capacity building programme including trainings and workshops. Leonard is exceptionally skilled in raising enthusiasm and engages with people from all walks of life.
He has organized a number of educational and community based environment and water programmes. He has also facilitated some local and international training in environmental and natural resources management; this involves liaising with government ministers, institutions, schools, students and community members, which he does with confidence and success.
